In 2018 SCOTT landscape design was commissioned by Loughmore Development Group to design a 5 year plan for the village of Loughmore. The plan was driven by the Development Group's aspirations and objectives for their area and funded by North 

Tipperary Leader Partnership.

The key aims of the 5 year plan include;

To define tangible proposals for the locality within a 5 year timeline, with the use of plans and graphics that enlivens proposals and aspirations for the Village. The design solutions outlined in this document are only a recommendation and are subject to further study and analysis from relevant expert organisations. The proposals highlight the unique qualities of Loughmore and provide broad design guidelines to both safeguard its distinctive character and enhance the quality of life within the village.

To define funding opportunities available to the Development Group.

 

To inform North Tipperary County Council of the Community's ambitions and potentially inform any future planning settlement plans that maybe prepared for the village.

To inform residents of Loughmore and adjacent communities of the Development Group's proposals for their area and potentially galvanise further community spirit and participation.

​

To provide a comprehensive overview of the village and community of Loughmore so that it will assist potential investors / stakeholders.

The process of formulating this 5 year plan was carried out as follows; 

​

a) Site visit and desktop analysis:

​

Gathering information from the Development Group, relevant published documents, relevant local authority and public service organisations and photographing the village.

​

b) Community Consultation:

 

A public meeting was held in Loughmore Parish Centre on June 2018, where a presentation of all the proposals included in the plan were outlined and explained.

 

The plan set out defining proposals under the following categories; 

Public realm proposals 

Tourism / amenity proposals 

Economic proposals
